Dr. Hallowell has a new book coming out at the end of this year entitled SUPERPARENTING FOR ADD: AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO RAISING YOUR DISTRACTED CHILD. Co-authored by the renowned scientist, researcher, clinician, and all-around stellar man, Dr. Peter Jensen, this book boldly states our conviction that love and positive connection lie at heart of drawing out the best in children who have what's called ADD. We see ADD more as a trait than a disorder, and the book gives a detailed method on how to turn the trait into much more of an asset than a liability. The book provides a raft of new ideas and information, as well as a distillation of the positive approach Peter and I so fervently endorse. There is also a soliloquy on what's it's like to have ADD that I composed from the point of view of an adolescent male. People who have read it tell me that the soliloquy alone is worth the price of the book. You can order a copy of the book now, in advance of publication.

The Hallowell Center is excited to welcomeMy Sensory Solutions, a new generation of auditory stimulation, to our complementary therapy offerings. My Sensory Solutions is a Tomatis-based, individualized listening program, integrated with balance, voice, movement and visual activities for people ages three and up with ADD, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory integration, auditory processing and other related difficulties. Listening therapy relies on the concept of neuroplasticity – the brain's ability to reorganize itself as a result of experience. During listening therapy, specific sound frequencies and patterns are delivered via specially designed bone conduction headphones that include the vibration necessary to effect change in the vestibular system.
